 Ni-Cr-Si - Si Ni thermocouple (N-type thermocouple) to clean metal thermocouples, is one of the latest international standard thermocouple is in the early 1970s by the Australian Department of Defense laboratory successfully developed to overcome it the K-type thermocouple of two important drawbacks: K-type thermocouple at 300 ~ 500 ℃ between the nickel-chromium alloy as short-range order of the lattice thermal electromotive force caused by unstable; at about 800 ℃ occurred because nickel-chromium alloy thermal electromotive force caused by the preferential oxidation instability.  N-type thermocouple has good linearity, thermal electromotive force larger, high sensitivity, stability and uniformity better oxidation resistance is strong, inexpensive, free from the impact of short-range order of merit, its overall performance is excellent in the K-type thermocouple, is a promising thermocouple. 
 N-type thermocouples can not be directly used for sulfur at high temperatures, reduction or reduction, oxidation and turn the vacuum atmosphere, not recommended for the weak oxidizing atmosphere.
